Our Team

We're not your average brokers. And that's a good thing.

Brian Matz

Vice President of Sales

Early Years:

Team work: that what it's all about. Well, we've got your man. A Towson native, Brian graduated from Calvert Hall College, where he was an All-State baseball player. He played varsity basketball, too. Before you could blink, it seemed Brian was all grown-up and attending Clemson University on a baseball scholarship. Before EBS signed him on first-string, he made it all the way to the pros - under contract with the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals). What does seven years in the big leagues earn you? Perseverance, communication skills and leadership qualities. That is, if you're keeping score.

What we know about Brian:

Hitting "Plan B" out of the ballpark.

When shoulder surgery ended the possibility of an MLB career, Brian completed his education at the University of Baltimore, graduating with a Business degree. Next to the plate? A career in insurance - with a goal to someday own his own business. In 2007, he affiliated with the group that is now EBS of Maryland, where it's safe to say that he still delivers a great pitch. But his biggest hit came when he married wife Christian in 2014, and happily settled in Baltimore's Canton neighborhood.

First man on. I worked for Under Armour during off-season as one of just 20 employees - I helped make them what they are today!

Stand up straight. At Military School elementary school, I was voted "Most Admired Cadet" by classmates and as a 1st grader, named the school newspaper The Cadet Copy.

Pujols, schmujols. I once struck out Major League All-Star Albert Pujols in a spring training game.

Game On. I am a fiercely competitive golfer and bocce ball player.

Jennifer O'Leary

Director of Client Care

Early Years

Jennifer grew up in Towson and attended Notre Dame Prep, where she was quite the sport. In fact, "JO" played 3 sports, was Gym Meet Manager, and voted "most athletic" for 4 years. As the oldest child and the only girl, she could hold her own (and still can). She had also had a passion for art and wanted to go to Maryland Institute College of Art, but landed at University of Maryland, College Park.

What we know about Jennifer:

She's a smooth Operator

Jennifer recently celebrated her ninth year at EBS and has 12 years' experience in the industry. As our Director of Client Care, she is here to make your life easier. Jennifer manages and trains our internal Client Care Specialists to ensure impeccable service. This includes (but you can bet is not limited to) daily communication with our clients' HR Directors, HR Generalists, and C-Suite executives, as well as their employee population. She also serves as a liaison for our clients with TPA's, Carriers, Vendors, and HR Consulting Firms, trouble shooting any issues associated with employee benefits and handles enrollments, plan implementations, claims issues, appeals to MIA. She works closely with our in house consultants on managing our key accounts.

Khris Wilson

Client Care Specialist

Early Years:

Khris was born in sunny Manila, Philippines and moved to Baltimore with her family in the early 90s. She attended The Catholic High School of Baltimore and earned her Business degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.

What we know about Khris:

Always in the middle

Growing up as an oft-ignored middle child of four, Khris immersed herself in independent activities such as playing video games, drawing, and reading. As a teenager, she took her first summer job folding and packaging curtains at a textile manufacturer.

She's had pretty cool jobs as an adult, too-her first at a staffing firm founded by a certain billionaire owner of a two-time Super Bowl winning NFL team. No big deal or anything. She then became an associate financial rep at Northwestern Mutual, where she continued her loner-esque streak as a rep in the individual insurance field. In 2012, EBS forced her out of her shell by transitioning her to group insurance.

In the office, fellow colleagues often ask what she is having for lunch. She is a true foodie and is known to eat Chipotle burritos bigger than her face.

Fun Facts

I taught myself English by listening to books on tape. I may not speak Tagalog anymore but I understand my parents when they talk about me to relatives.

Unique, just like 70 million other people. A Myers-Briggs certified INFJ, I am among only 1% of the world's population.

I have three dogs. Wicket the shih-poo, Puddles the cavapoo, and a golden doodle Sperry.

I met my husband in a bar while dressed as Lara Croft. His female friend agreed to pose as his sister. The truth was revealed on our first date

Peg Hahn

Client Care Specialist

Early years

As a girl, Peg had a goal: to become "Peggy Fleming in a Dorothy Hamill haircut." Obviously, she had the name thing going for her. She backed it up with skating lessons three times a week for three whole years. It all seems natural when growing up where ice picks open doors (outside of Syracuse, New York). To warm up, Peg played soccer, volleyball, and softball. And when the ice melted on that, became a Basketball Cheerleader.

What we know about Peg:

Going off-script can lead to great things.

While in high school, Peg attended cosmetology trade school, obtained her license, and aspired to become a horror movie makeup artist. But that script changed after traveling around Germany. Upon returning to Syracuse, she fell into a job as an Aetna Customer Service Rep-and has been in the industry ever since (22 years!). In 2012, Peg sold her house and shuffled off to Baltimore where she landed her role with EBS (and lives happily ever after).
