Rip Friddell

Associate Client Manager

Early Years: Humanities Help the World

Rip grew up right in Baltimore with his parents and younger sister, and they are huge sports fans for everything Maryland: Orioles, Ravens, and Terrapins. Rip attended the Gilman School where he won the Redmon C. S. Finney Award for promoting diversity and social civility in the student body. After graduating from the University of Richmond as a religious studies major with a focus in the humanities, he went directly to teaching eighth grade English.

What we know about Rip: Che buono!

Ever since he was young, Rip has loved getting together and cooking for family and friends as well as trying out different local restaurants in Baltimore and D.C. His father part-owned a northern Italian restaurant while Rip was in school, and it inspired him to study abroad in Italy and learn Italian. (But really, he just can't get enough of the food.) Rip enjoys reading and learning about new cultures, so we were proud to learn he joined EBS after hearing about our company culture!

Fun Facts

The American Original: Half my family is from Kansas City, and my grandfather was the creator of KC Masterpiece barbeque sauce.

Constant hustle! My family has had Ravens season tickets ever since they moved to Baltimore and started playing at Memorial Stadium.

Less weeds, more green: I love landscaping and working outside. (It's probably my only artistic ability, aside from being a drummer in high school.)

Susan Sachs

Client Manager

Early Years: A pet menagerie.

Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, Susan lived with her parents, two sisters and a menagerie of pets - several dogs, multiple cats, guinea pig, hamster, rabbit and a ferret. Luckily, not all at one time. When Susan's family wasn't cuddling cute animals, they spent time camping, traveling and returning to Iowa for family reunions.

What we know about Susan: Stick it.

Susan attended Elgin Community College and Midland Technical College, and she studied business law. While in school, she also did gymnastics. Though she's no longer defying gravity and flipping off the bars, we know she brings the same level of commitment and dedication to work every day. Outside the office, Susan's often jetting off on vacations with her family, stretching from Maine to Florida and even overseas to Germany.

Fun Facts

Zoom Zoom: I love the 1990s Mazda Miatas and the late 1999 and early 2000s Landrovers.

Connectedness: I am spiritual.

Simply the Zest! I can't live without ice water with real lemons - I won't drink it any other way.

Amy Gorman

Client Care Specialist

Early Years: Ready to Get Her Hands Dirty

Growing up in Ellicott City, Maryland, Amy was an only child - except for a spastic Weimaraner. The pup was as close as a sibling, since Amy took the blame whenever she broke things or chewed-up comforters. Through her parent's employment, Amy had the opportunity to travel and loved experiencing different parts of Europe with her parents. She even channeled her interest in art and was awarded a certificate of appreciation for painting an exhibit at the National Cryptologic Museum in Maryland. Amy later studied photography and psychology at Howard Community College but felt she learned better outside the classroom.

What we know about Amy: Fun in the Sun

Amy loves to travel anywhere warm: Aruba, the Florida Keys, the Virgin Islands, but no cruises. She prefers all-inclusive resorts where she can double-fist daiquiris, rather than being stranded on a random rock or contracting the plague aboard a ship.

Fun Facts

Training with the best: I got my black belt in martial arts when I was 12, and I started teaching adult classes.

Who's the Boss? Tony Danza almost knocked me over in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican. He's quite short, by the way.

Crunchy candy only! I am terrified of all things "gummy." Gummy worms, gummy bears, Jell-O, everything. They legitimately freak me out.
